The Climb to the top of a Minnesota Mountain!

Oh my gosh...Good thing that I didn't blog this morning or I may not have had such good things to say!  I was very nauseous this morning when I woke up and drank my shake. The morning hour walk started out slow...my foot was hurting and my brain was saying what the heck. When I jumped in the pool; I was freezing and thought I can not take the washing machines, wave makers, lunges or deck ups! Once I started I just focused on the end...to finish and not look back! I was feeling really nauseated after the pool and really didn't want to eat breakfast. I was afraid the egg beaters and Kashi Go Lean w/ Almond Milk and Fresh Strawberries was going to come up while I was doing the circuits!

I didn't throw up, but our circuits really sucked!  Walk in the room and see 19 stations. I thought are you kidding me? I wanted to cry. All I was thinking was I can not do this, my body is so sore! Well after two circuits guess what our BONUS was?  I will give you a hint and tell you that a BONUS is not always a good thing. We were able to sprint up the steps 5 times! These were not just 5 steps, and nobody counted! I think everyone was thinking that we would all be done after that...but oh no! We had to do another circuit and the 2 rounds on the BOSU balls!  After we were all done, Leif said we did such an awesome job on day 3 so we could ALL walk back (except him, he got to drive is Cadillac Escalade back), I guess that is what you call a perk when you are the Drill Seargant!

I layed in my bed after lunch with ice on my foot and knee and really wondered how I was going to be able to put my hiking boots on! They fit:) We were suppose to have a nice easy hike today; since today is suppose to be one of the hardest days! Well, THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! We went to Split Rock Lighthouse. If you have never been there, it is an amazing state park and has some spectacular views. Sheryl asked the lady at the front what the easiest hike would be and they told her the Day Mile trail. Actually I am not even sure if that is the right name, because I would have name it: The Fireplace from Hell! The climb was ALL uphill. It was not just your average little climb, it was steep. When you reach the top it is very beautiful and there since a lonely furnace that some poor old guy was building for his bride (but she canceled the wedding). The best part of this hike was that we were able to come DOWN!

I give kudos to the women here because some of them rock it out so hard! They probably covered 4 times the area as me. I am proud of myself though!

After the 2 1/2 hour hike (you don't want to end early or Leif might just give you a BONUS), supper never sounded so good! We made faux potatoes (mashed cauliflower w/ seasoning and smart butter), if you have never had these just try them they are absolutely to die for. We also made a stir fry out of a Southwestern Turkey Sirloin w/fresh veggies!  It was by far the best supper ever....

I made it today! I definitely hit a mental block somewhat today. I wanted to cry like I have never cried before. But I didn't! I am taking the words of O'Neal Hampton to heart, "My health is more important than the pain I am feeling right now." I kept saying that to myself today and reminding myself that I want to be healthy and it doesn't matter what my foot is feeling or my knee. I am keeping one foot in front of the other and also remembering the words of Sheryl, "Slow and Steady wins the race!"

I am so happy I am here....the excruciating pain will get better....my heart will get better and I will get better! I love my family so much!

For now, Peace Out!
